LEVEL 1: FUNDAMENTALS
The fundamentals bundle covers the essential knowledge of meditation-related challenges, and includes a 1 hour introduction , a 3-part research overview, and 2 survivor stories.
The 3-part workshops contains an hour each on:
types of meditation-related adverse effects (MRAEs) (phenomenology)
psychological and neurobiological mechanisms and
mitigation and management strategies, including trauma-informed modifications.
The workshop is oriented toward difficulties that occur in the context of mindfulness-based programs, because this is the starting point for many therapists and meditation teachers. Level 2 will cover meditation-challenges in a wider range of contexts and experiences.
The module is accompanied by live discussion/Q+A sessions with faculty, and combined session with both survivors. The faculty Q+A and discussion sessions are scheduled periodically.
