Cheetah House Client Engagement Letter
Thank you for reaching out for a consultation with a Cheetah House Care Team member.
Broadly speaking, the purpose of our working together as consultant and client is to address recovery from, and reduction of, adversities resulting from meditation practices. At the beginning of the consultation, we will focus on hearing your story, and getting to know the specifics of your situation, including your meditation history, your experiences and symptoms, and what activities, approaches, or treatments you have found helpful or unhelpful so far. After we get a sense of where you are at, and what your needs, goals and values are, we may answer your questions, share some of our own experiences, describe available resources within and beyond Cheetah House and/or make recommendations for next steps. Depending on your situation, next steps may include ongoing one-on-one support from the same or different Care Team member, support groups, or other resources.
It is important to note, however, that our consultations will not consist of psychotherapy or counseling, which is typically defined as the diagnosis and treatment of mental conditions and emotional difficulties. Although members of the Care Team may be licensed mental health professionals, they are not providing services in such capacity during your consultation. Instead, the Care Team will provide consulting services based on their knowledge, experience, and expertise. Our consultations do not constitute a mental health visit and do not replace standard psychological or medical care.
Our consultations are 50 minutes. Our fee schedule is as set forth in on our website and as agreed to by you in scheduling your consultation. If you would like further consultation or information from the Care Team after your consultation, you will need to schedule another appointment. Due to demand, the Care Team will not be able to correspond with you pre- or post-consultation.
The information you share with the Care Team during your consultation will be held in strict confidence except as mandated by law or as follows. The Care team may share information with other Cheetah House staff to support your care. A Care Team trainee may attend your consultation if you give consent. We may also share your information if we reasonably believe there is a risk of your doing serious harm to yourself or others. Please note that although we generally agree to keep our conversations confidential, the nature of our discussions is not shielded by HIPAA or clinician-client privilege.
During our discussions, the Care Team may share personal information, opinions, or unpublished research data with you. This information is solely for your benefit and you agree not to share this information in any public forum.
Please confirm your understanding and approval of this letter and your ongoing agreement to follow the Cheetah House Terms of Use and Privacy Policy by typing your signature into the box that provided you the link to this document. We look forward to working with you.
Warmly,
The Cheetah House Care Team
